Mr. Speaker and gentlemen of the House. as I understand. this resolution. it is claimed. is now necessary by reason of the fact that certain judges In New York con. strued the immigration law in a way to let in over 9.000 LXV-- 96 people who are not entitled to admission into the United States under the law. and it is proposed to correct that mitter by admitting them. Since that time the case has gone to the Supreme Court. and the Supreme Court has held that they were improperly in the United States. Here is the proposition that appeals to me: We have been through this immigration fight. I have witnessed the attitude of a great many of the New York Representatives on that proposition. I have read the names of a great many New York judges. and what is the use of having an immigration act if we are going to leave it to New York judges as to who shall come in and then 0. K. their coming in?
