CLERK. On page 1. line 5. It is proposed to strike out all after the word "amended" and to insert the following: so that it shall read as follows : " SEc. 9. That every final hearing upon a petition for naturalization shall be had in open court before a judge or judges thereof. and every final order which may be made upon a petition for naturalization shall be under the hand of the court and may be entered upon a record containing the names of the petitioners admitted. or denied. or continued. as the case may be. made by the clerk of the court upon a form furished by the Bureau of Naturalization and verified by the signature of the- representative of the Goverimmnt from the Bureau of Naturalization attending the naturalization hearing. such record to be signed in duplicate by the presiding judge. one copy to be forwarded to the Bureau of Naturalization. the other copy to he filed by the clerk of the court as a part of the records of the court. Upon the final hearing of any petitioner for naturalization. the applicant and witnesses shall be examined under oath before the court and in the presence of the court."
