Speech #680119230

Let me ask at this point. if they confine themselves to naturalization cases alone. what will become of the regular cases on the calendar. which is entirely congested. in so far as the southern district of New York is concerned? it is so much congested that they are seeking new judges. and are asking Congre.ss to give them new judges down there to help them in their work so that they may keep their calendars clear. Mr. SnREvE. It Is very necessary that we differentiate between these two lines of activities so that we know what is being done by the department over here. If I grasp your thought. the situalion is this: The court is so congested with legal business that it is your contention that they would possibly be hanlcapped and aiot be able to handle naturalization business.
