Session #68 · 1923–25

Speech #680116480

I stand for this conference report. It should be adopted. I want to state to the House that I have been advised and requested by the members of the Committee on Immigrationexcept the two distinguished gentlemen who originally voted against the billto state to the House that they and i their friends shall vote down any motion to recommit and shall vote for the conference report that is now before the House. I am in full accord with my colleagues who signed the majority report on the immigration bill. Nothing has occurred to cause any of us to change our views therein expressed. The only thing I will have time to discuss now is the que.stion of alien seamen. and I. will have to state that as briefly and as rapidly as I call.
