We would not reflect the glory of the generation In which they lived. or be worthy of the one in which we live. if we do not add to that which they gave us. There is also another thing which has happened recently which. in my opinibn. has greatly increased the importance of the childlabor question. That is. the passage of the new immigration law. The effect of that will be to restrict the cheaper labor of other countries from coming here. and this will increase the effort to obtain child labor. Hence. legislation to protect children which will apply to every State in the Union is more necessary noNV than ever.
