Mr. President. just a word in conclusion. There has developed within the last six months a rather considerable immigration of negroes from the colonies of Great Britain in the West Indies. and it was for that reason. and because that immigration seemed to us to be undesirable. that we struck out the West Indies dependencies. as you will notice on page 5. In lines 14 and 15. That was done by the committee. and the Senate has already agreed to that amendment. That leaves only the matter of Canada. The Canadian border is nearly 3.000 miles long. and most of It is barren wilderness.
