I thank the Senator from Georgia. I shall be very brief. I want to give the figures on Mexican immigration in the last two fiscal years. In the year ending June 30. 1922. we received 19.551 Mexicans of the immigrant class and we lost 6.285. the net increNse being about 13.000. In the last fiscal year. which ended Tune 30. 1023. we received 63.768. more than three times as many as the previous year. and the departuresspeaking always of the immigrant classwere 2.660. and apparent net gain of about 60.000. which is rather contradictory to the idea that the Senator from Utah mentioned a little while ago. and is contradicted by my own impressions. I think more of them went back than the record shows.
