Speak if you will of the spirit for culture that existed in those days. of the love of literature. music. and art. boast of the genius for law and government that those great people had. I deny none of these. but I say that some at least of those nations have disappeared. the glory and grandeur of those days are gone. washed out in large measure by the stream of foreign immigration that invade their confines.
