They also know. at least some of them. that I have introduced a bill. or have supported a bill actively in the committee. providing an additional guard for the Mexican and the Canadian borders to keep these people out under present law. The great problem there is enforcement. The Mexicans are coming in now. as my colleagues have told you. in violation of the law. I have repeatedly stated to the House that there are two great weaknesses in our immigration laws. The first is that the laws themselves are deficient. I am in doubt as to whether the greatest difficulty and the greatest peril is not in their nonenforcement.
