Mr. President. I had hoped that we would be able today to finish Senate bill 2576. the immigration bill. and. if necessary. by means of a session tonight. It would. however. be inconvenient to so many Senators that they have asked me that the request be withheld. I now only wish to say that I think everyone desires to complete the consideration of the immigration bill tomorrow and. if necessary. I slull ask the Senate to sit tomorrow night in order finally to dispose of it. Meanwhile. Mr. President. I ask that the immigration bill lie temporarily laid aside in order to allow the completion of the consideration of the appropriation bill.
