Session #68 · 1923–25

Speech #680076370

I have given very close attention to all of the statistics and have read all of the speeches that have been delivered. Here is where the gentleman makes his mistake. Let us say for arguments sake that there are in the United States today. of all those that settled here. 85 per cent who came from these countries which y )u call northern or northwestern Europe. and 15 per cent from all of the other countries. What do you proceed to (1o? You say that out of every hundred immigrants that come Into this country. naturally and logically. 85 ought to come from those countries. Is not that your conclusion?
