The American citizen who was naturalized last week is just as much of an American as I am. He is just as much an American as the gentleman who just questioned me. and just as muh an American as those who date back to the 1790 census. He is not a "foreigner." and he is just as much interested In the proper settlement of the admission of aliens as any other Americam. Second. The settlement of a permanent immigration policy is purely an American question. It is the business of nobody but Americans.
