We ought ourselves here to provide that those who come as students shall be bona fide students. not that they may come under the guise of students to study we know not what. to continue as students we know not how longto come for the vague purpose of "study" and speedily turn to become common laborers in competition with American labor. I have said all I now desire to say in support of these amendments. I ask consent to incorporate In my remarks a senate joint resolution of the Legislature of the State of California relative to oriental immigration. with particular reference to Japanese immigration.
