I call especial attention to section 3705. which reads as follows: All acts or parts of acts inconsistent with or repugnant to the provisions of chapter 69. Fortieth Statutes at Large. page 547. section 3675 of the Code of the Laws of the United States. are repealed. but nothing. in said act shall repeal or in any way enlarge section 2169 of the Revised Statutes of 1878. except as specified in the seventh subdivision of section 3675 of the Code of the Laws of the United States. and under the limitation therein defined : Provided. That for the purposes of the prosecution of all crimes and offenses against the naturalization laws of the United States which may have been committed prior to the act of May 9. 1918. Fortieth Statutes at Large. chapter 69. the statutes and laws repealed shall remain in full force and effect: Provided firther. That as to all aliens who. prior to January 1 1900. served in the armies of the United States and were honorably discharged therefrom. section 2166 of the Revised Statutes of 1878 shall be and remain in full force and effect. anything In chapter 69.
