I wish to say that since that amendment was reported I have carefully examined the debate which occurred in the other House with reference to the item. The appropriation is proposed to be reduced by $300.000 by our. committee because it exceeds the Budget estimate. but a reading of the debate in the House has convinced me that that amendment should not be adopted. that the bill should carry the full amount granted by tile House. which is the sum appropriated for the enforcement of the immigration law for the current year. So I ask that the committee amendment may be disagreed to.
