Mr. Chairman and gentlemen of the committee. this bill. relative to the naturalization and citizenship of married women. has been indorsed in its principles by the platforms of both the great political parties. Our own Republican platform which we adopted at the last national convention provided in reference to naturalization: We advocate the independent naturalization of married uomen. An American woman. resident in the United States. should not lose her citizenship by marriage to an alien. The Democratic platform followed us in that particular. Fur. thermore this bill has been indorsed In its principles by the American Association of University Women. the Business and Professional Womens Clubs. the Council of J~wish Women. the Daughters of the American Revolution. the General Federation of Womens Clubs. the National League of Women Voters. the National Womens Trade Union League. and the Womans Christian Temperance Union.
