Session #67 · 1921–23

Speech #670216591

I am not basing my argument on any report of Mrs. Moore. not at all. That is just part of the case. I am basing my substitute on the recomtnendation of Mr. Husband. the Commissioner of Immigration. and appointee of this admoinistration. a man who I believe knows more ambout the immuigration question today than anyone else in the United States. I have great respect for his judgment. and I ami willing to follow him more quickly than those Senators oil the other side who are opposing his recommendation and refusing to follow him in this instance. I have the good of the country at heart.
