The gentleman from Washington calls up House joint resolution 279. to permit to remain within the United States certain aliens admitted temporarily under bond in excess of quotas fixed under authority of the immigration act of May 19. 1921. This being on the Union Calendar. the House will automatically resolve itself into the Committee of the Whole House on tie state of the Union for the consideration of the resolution. and the gentleman from Illinois will please take the chair. Accordingly the Hotse resolved itself into the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union for the consideration of House joint resolution 279. with Mr. MADDEN in the chair.
