The text of the resolution follows: Jqint resolution (FI. I. ies. 237) to authorize the Secretary of Labor to stay the deportation of certain aliens in cases of extreme hardship. Rcsolved. etc.. That the Secretary of Labor. upon a satisfactory showinE being made in individual cases of the imposition of cxtreme hardship or the likelihood of death if deported. is hereby authorized to stay for not to exceed six months at a time the deportation of persons arrivn in tihe United States iu excess of quotas authorized by the act of Congress entitled "An act to limit the immigration of aliens into the United States." approved AMay 19. 1921. under such rules and regulalions as lie may prescribe: Provided. That such persoins are proved to be (a) relatives of citizens of the United States or (b) relatives of persous who have been domiciled in the United States for at least two years. and bearing such relationship as (1) fathers. (2) mothers. (3) husbands. (4) wives. (5) minor children. (6) dependent unmarried brothers under 1 years of age. and (7) dependent unmarried sisters. or (c) dependent orphans under the age of 15 years: And provided further. That il al cases there shall be given competent bond for the support of all such temporarily admitted persons and for their return to the custody of the United States.
