I would say that if you are trying to help any particular man like OCallaghan. in the name of heaven why (1o not you come out flatfooted and say so and not make a general provision that will admit men whom we (1o not want in this country? That is the position I take. We are confronted right now with a proposition of trying to limit immigration by legislation in some such way as to benefit society and the people we already have. Let us lot muddy the waters by trying to provide some loophole whereby some )articular individual can remain in this country or get in under legal right. If you want to assist any particular individual let us meet the proposition on its merits. face to face. and say what we are going to do. As far as I am concerned I want restricted immigration until socially and economically in this country we have solved some of these very potent problems that are confronting our civilization.
