I ask that the Members pay some attention to Report No. 4. in which will be found. as an appendix. a letter from the Secretary of State submitting to me. as chairman of the Committee on Immigration and Naturalizatiof. a paraphrase of reports made to the State Department and containing facts and statistics concerning the situations in the various places in central Europe from which immigrants are coming or trying to come to the United States. I desire at this time to express my appreciation of the fair�ness of the views of the minority as expressed in this report signed by the dissenting members of the committee. I believe they are moderately stated and properly stated from their viewpoint.
