In this connection I am reminded of a comparison by percentages made here a few years ago by the distinguished colleague of the Senator from Mississippi. In speaking of percentages. the distinguished senior Senator. from Mississippi . always interesting and always logical. stated that the increase in the Republican Party in Mississippi was about 1.000 per cent. but the junior Senator from Mississippi knows that that.percentage did not mean a very large increase of the Republicans in Mississippi. So. in the case of the immigration to which he has referred. the percentages mentioned by him may mean very little. Mr. President.
