Session #66 · 1919–21

Speech #660300288

Mr. President. this morning I got into the Chamber two minutes late. I came straight from a meeting of the Committee in Immigration. at which we were considering the imnrigration 1ill. I had served notice in the Senate that there were three or four amendments which I desired to offer to the District of Columbia appropriation bill. two of which. I think. were pending. They were only pending and not offered. because we were trying to get through with the committee amendments first. The Senator from Utah has some amendnents that he wishes to propose. I wish to say to the Senator from Kansas that I have no desire to delay the bill today.
