The chairman of the Committee on Rules has just referred to the blot upon a great State and a great city by the action of yesterday. Why should the House of Representatives worry about it? If that State wants to retain the blot of the election of a criminal to represent it we can not prevent it. but we will not extend it to the House. And it will not be so extended. I would be willing now to join any group of men in enacting a law canceling the naturalization papers of any alien heretofore naturalized and deport him if he has been convicted under legislation designed to protect the Nation against its enemies.
