Mi. Chairman. .this bill " to regulate further the entry of aliens into the United States " is the iiost drastic measure for restricting immigration that was ever suggested. I have listened to a number of speeches here today in favor of this bill . they have the same old ring and sound like the old. old cry of "America for Americans." It is not a new cry: we have had it with us one time or another ever since the foundation of the Republic. The KiiowNothing Pirty. in its most prosperous days. never dreaned of suggestink such a restictive measure.
