When has there ever appeared a headline in a newspaper showing the mailing out to those charged with the maintenance of the dignity of the law bombs designed to destroy human life and destroy the ability of humanity to care for itself as eianating from many Southern States? And yet within the last few weeks. within the confines of the great metropolis of this country. whose static condition. I have no doubt. appeals to the gentleman from Indiana. we have seen bombs mailed to lawabiding people in every section of this country. including a distinguished Member of this House who faithfully discharged ]is duties here ad who was mailed a bomb because. forsooth. lie was attempting to prevent the destruction of the pure and static condition of our race in this country by the prevention of undesirable immigrants being brought in here. Now. the gentleman made another statement. and in this 11e is entirely inaccurate. He stated that the South was turned over to the dominance of an irresponsible and ignorant constituency in the days of reconstruction.
