Session #65 · 1917–19

Speech #650273206

If I may be permitted. I would like to say to the gentleman that. inl my opinion. nothing more salutary could be put into the law than a provision that any man who has become a citizen and thereafter entertains. believes in. or preaches such doctrines as are forbidden in paragraph 1 of this bill shall upon proof thereof have his naturalization taken from him. Without mentioning the name of the nationality. I should like to state that in various localities il the United States there are people of a nationality almost 90 per cent disloyal to this Government for reasons that really have nothing whatever to do with this Government.
