I believe on January 25. presented to the Attorney General. through Senator SHIELDs. his papers and court records. which were substantially these: He had come to this country with his father and mother when a boy about 10 years old. as I recall his agea very tender age. at any rate. When he was about 11 years old his father died. His father was a German subject. His mother was d German subject. His father had applied for naturalization papers. as I recall. but they had never been perfected at the time of his death. Not longperhaps about a year or a little moreafter the death of Frederick Stahian. the father of Maj. Stahlnian. his -mother married a second time.
