Kahn. of New York. relative to citizens of the United States of German origin or descent. Mr. Kahn is a German himself. naturalized in the United States. and consequently in a position to speak freely on that subject. andhis address is exceedingly useful abd sensible. It seems as though it ought not to be necessary to publish propaganda setting out tile duty of citizens of the United States to give their allegiance to the country in which they live and In which they are naturalized. but on account of the attitude of a few of this class of our citizens who seem to imagine that they can live in the United States and draw their sustenance from it and at the same time give their allegiance to a power with which the United States is at war. a great injury has been. done to the loyal GermanAmerican citizens of the country. This address by one of their number. which is an intelligent analysis of the changes which have come over the spirit of Germany in recent years. so different from the old Germany with which we were all familiar. and the opportunities which have been given to the subjects of that country in this great land. I think ought to be given publicity.
