Each individual should be called upon to render the service he can. some in one capacity and some in another. There is a. duty for each citizen. either in the fighting ranks or with that vast army which will be needed at home to make our military and naval operations successful. Then. too. there. is another phase to be considered. at this time: We must wipe out. the. bitter feeling that is prevalent in some sections between capital and labor. between the rich:. and the poor. between the nativeborn and the naturalized citizen. .e must instill into the hearts. of those immigrants who have. taken up residence in this country- a lesson in loyalty to. American institutions which ws instilled into. the hearts of. our fathers by war and privation. They should be taught that they have responsibilities. as well as privileges.
