There is a distinguished citizen in Denver. Mr. Godfrey Schirmer. Who is president of the GermanAmerican Trust Co.. of that city. He has issued a statement. published in the Denver Post of April 3 last. a part of which I will ask to have placed in the RECORD. I will read the statemeat: I believe that every German in this country. native born or naturalized. is Just as good and honorable and patriotic an American as am 1. And. for myself and all of those men and vomen. I can pledge to this Nation. here and now. our undivided and unquestioning loyalty and patriotism.
