Speech #640282954

Speaker. I know nothing about the bil that the gentleman from Delaware refers to. but I imagine that the committee thought that the judge improperly decided that case. that it was a highly technical decision. and ppssibly incorrect. In cases where the committee believes there is any remedy in the courts for naturalization. it has refused to grant it through resolution or bill.. In this case Mr. Campbell. the Commissioner of Naturalization. says this man has no chance vWithout staying here five years. lIe came over from England when he was 4 years old. with his father. He thought his father had become a naturalized citizen. When he was 21 years of age -he went off to school and remained until he was 29 years of age. He was a member of the National Guard. and as such took the oath to support and uphold the Constitution of the United States.
