Session #64 · 1915–17

Speech #640201100

I Nvould have made the point of order on parliamentary grounds against the Senators resolution. because It is manifestly contrary to our procedure and our rules. As to thepolitical matter which the Senator has in mind. which lie now puts in the shape of a proposed unanimousconsent agreement. I will say to the Senator that I much prefer that the immigration bill should be made the continuing order of the Senate after the present bill is out of the way and the deficiency bill shall have been acted upon. I believe the inminigration billis of infinitely greater importance than the Senators bill.
