I 1o not want the Senator to misapprehend what I said. or certainly what I intended to say. What I intended to say and whatI do ihtend to say is this: So far as my information goes there has been no authoritative or binding action by the Democratic caucus on the subject of whether or not the immigration bill shall be considered during the present session. It may be quite true that some resolution of an advisory character might have been offered from the few who were present at a late hour at night. but no attempt was made -to bind the Democratic Party to any action in reference to this matter in the way provided by the rules of the caucus itself. according to my information.
