Session #64 · 1915–17

Speech #640183416

I simply wanted to controvert the proposition advanced by the Senator from Missouri that there has been any binding Democratic caucus action to the effect that the immigration bill is not to be considered during the present session. Of course .I do that with all personal deference to the Senator. but my information is that there was no binding action taken in that respect and that there was a bare handful of people present and no vote even taken on the question. So I say that -for one Democratic Senator I -do not feel bound .not to vote to take up the immigration bill.
