I move to strike out the last word. anti desire the attention of the gentleman from Alabama . Or. page 42. line 8. are the words " now existing." That does not seem to me very good legislation. If this Congress or a succeeding Congress amended the immigration ltw. or a new treaty was made. as new treaties are being made all of the time. then we would have I his curious situation. that the decision of the Secretary under a treaty now existing would be legal. but a decision of the Secretary under a subsequent treaty or act woul not be. I simply call the attention of the gentleman to that.
