We do hope for immigration down South. but we want highclass. desirable immigrants. and at the port of Charleston. with deep water on the bar and in the harbor. with three large trunk lines coining into the city. large coal terminals. ail with five coastwise steamship lines coming into the port. we expect one of these days to have foreign steamship lines. which may bring desirable immigrants. Therefore. when the time comes. when immigrants do come into the port. all immigration station will be there. which will make it convenient for them anid the Government.
