Session #64 · 1915–17

Speech #640070875

I want to call the attention of the gentleman from Pennsylvania [Mr. MooRE] to the fact that he least of all should complain by reason of the passage of these acts. When lie came into Congress. right after they had been passed. this House. at his request. passed an appropriation of $250.000 for an immigration station at Philadelphia. and I want to say that it is absolutely no fault of the House that. after we had appropriated the money. they found they could not build it in Philadelphia because there was no place in Philadelphia where they could build it. and they had to build it in New Jersey.
