Chairman. in support of the amendment. As that matter stands. I am willing to support the amendment offered by the gentlemanfrom Massachusetts. but I take very serious exception to what has -been said with reference to the character of the immigrants who go upon the farms. I will have to admit. Mr. Chairman. that I know nothing about them .except with reference to those who come to my own districts. Those are the flower of the immigrants who come to this countryDanes. Norwegians. and Germanssplendid specimens of manhood and womanhood. excellent morally. the kind that we want most to get. and the -kind that we need most. We can not get farm labor to carry on the work there as we wish to have it carried on.
