Mr. President. I will say to the Senator from .New Jersey that I am unable to reply that those countries have taken the same position. because I do not know: their exact position. but this much can.be said. that Canada has lately enforced exclusion by keeping out even the Hindus of India from British Columbia. Australia has also passed a law against Asiatics. It is safe to assume that their position is so akin to ours that the Senator from New Jersey is not far afield in the observation he has made. Mr. President. therefore. let me conclude. and call attention then. as you will observe. that France and England would be in no position to do otherwise than to yield to Japan.
