Session #63 · 1913–15

Speech #630463329

Mr. President. I understand the Senator has a perfect right to do that. We have been trying for weeks. and the Senator from Nebraska. the chairman of the Committee on the Philippines. particularly has been trying. to get this bill up for consideration. but on account of the pressure of business. on account of the fact that we had the shipping bill. the immigration bill. and the great supply bills. by which the expenses of the Government are paid. it has been impossible to find time for the consideration of this measure. I want now to ask Senators on the other side who are op.posed to this bill. if they will not. after the completion of this Unanimous Consent Calendar. consent to consider this bill and agree to take a vote on it after two hours discussion.
