Mr. Speaker. I am in favor of this bill because it restricts immigration. Had I lived a hundred yearsago I would have been opposed to it for the same reason that I am in favor of it now. One hundred years ago we needed more people. now we need less. A hundred years ago there were more opportunities than there were men. During the long years of the century just passed people have been coming here by the millions. One opportunity after another has been taken. until now our country is full of men and our cup of opportunities is about empty.
