The Senator says if a man believes in the Bible he therefore believes in polygamy. and that an immigrant might be asked if he believed in the Bible. and if he said he did he might be excluded. because the Bible advocates polygamy. according to the Senators theory. Mr. President. nobody in the Senate except the Senator from Utah believes that any man is going to be excluded at the gates of this country who answers affirmatively the question "Do you believe in the Holy Bible?" but if that were an admission of the belief in polygamy he is already excluded by the terms of the bill as it now stands.
