People were narrower then than they are now or than they have been until very. recently. That is what Franklin thought of the sturdy Germanic people who were then coming to this country. But what did these immigrants do? They made the land to blossom as the rose. They. brought wvith them their religion. they erected schoolhouses and temples of worship. they gathered their families about them. and from their veins flowved that stream of blood the committee declares gave added strength and vigor. to the American commonwealth.
