I believe that is all I care to say on this subject at this time. I may have something further to say along the same line later on. All that I have said is without reference to the literacy test itself in its general application. I have been addressing myself to the question of exceptions to that test. I desire.later to submit my views upon the literacy test itself in its larger aspects. I would prefer. however. to do that on some other day that would be agreeable to the Senator from South Carolina. who Is directing the bill upon the floor.
