In this connection I also desire to call the attention of the Senate to an interview in the Cincinnati TimesStar of September 19. written by Gus J. Karger. staff correspondent. and purporting to give a statement made by the junior Senator from South Carolina . who is the chairman of the Committee on Immigration. The correspondent goes on to say the general impression seems to be that because of the breaking out of hostilities in Europe this will solve the imn:igration question. and we will not noed any legislation. bnut he says: SMITH WILL lPUSrr BILL.
