I remember very distinctly that after the imanigration and naturalization act became a law it provided that a certain amount might be used for the payment of clerk hire from the fees that came from the naturalization business. and naturalization stopped in a number of the courts. because it was impossible to do the work without extra clerk hire. and they reached the limit under that act. Since then. as I say. we have had one or two acts in reference to the subject in some of the appropriation acts. I think it would be wise for the gentleman to consult the Bureau of Naturalization on tile subject before putting this into the law.
