Many members of the faculty in the city of Chicago are among those. There are Profs. Breasted. Butler. Carpenter. Marshall. Moore. Strong. Williston. and Young. all strongly in favor of it in the gentlemans own city. A gentleman the other day quoted from Dr. Eliot as being against the literacy test. and yet I have here a strong communication from Dr. Eliot. or a telegram-
