Session #63 · 1913–15

Speech #630135083

I was just coming to thatthat if this matter is to be dealt with in this general Immigration bill at this time. and under these circumstances. we ought not to deal with the broad question of invalidating existing treaties or forbidding the making of new ones that might affect this question. This question is Important enough. and the importance of it I am sure is readily seen by every Member of the House. to be considered by itself in a separate bill. and if it is to be considered in this bill the least that we can do is to see to it that it shall not affect either existing treaties or prevent the making of new ones.
