I have listened to the remarks of the gentleman from Ohio . He said. " We ought to keep in mind the principles of the Democratic Party." The founder of the Democratic Party ought to be good authority. and he said. "While we are providing for the fortification of our country against a foreign foe. I am in favor of fortifying it against the influx of undesirable immigration." We are making no fight upon the forefathers who came to this country. They have wrought mightily for us and our country. My greatgrandfather came over to this country a long time ago. Those of us who are here are charged with the responsibility of supporting the institutions of this country and of protecting this Nation from the dangers of indiscriminate and unrestricted immigration. Our duties and responsibilities in this regard are great. Let us give intelligent attention to the kind of people who are to come here in the future.
